The Grasp of Your Taunts

Grasp

The grasp of your taunts

That dress too flaunt

That lipstick too dark

That belly arc

Everything that should be okay, it isn’t
The grasp of your taunts

They wouldn’t let me speak

Something I own or believe

Whenever I try and raise my voice

Comes the words of your choice

Everything that shouldn’t be okay, it is
The grasp of your taunts

These eyes, they look with tease

Making me stay at unease

Your words, they underestimate

My destiny that I would make

Watch me go, as I reach out for stars

I wouldn’t be surprised if you are in the audience, watching from afar

What I have become

What I was

What I am

What I always will be

A women
