When The Day Runs You

When the day runs you

It’s not a feeling you always knew
The alarm battle
Thinking of all day, what could happen?
The breakfast chow down
Driving through the traffic town

When the day runs you
Coming to office
Everyone sitting in their closet
Wishing today won’t be the day they are called out by the bosses
Staring at the computer screen
Dreaming of a party scene

When the day runs you
It’s time to eat it says
The deadline though, it makes you stay
You sit down to eat, the homemade tiffin
While people gossip over the food, coming from canteen kitchen
Your phone comes to rescue
The social media, trying hard to mentally change your venue

When the day runs you
You wait for the latter half to pass
When its time to go, a new assignment crops up at the last
You sigh, cry and shout
Thinking ‘would you ever have a way out?’

When the day runs you
Its way past eight
You promised your family dinner, which now you wouldn’t be able to make
Again driving through the traffic town, even the family is use to it now

When the day runs you
You are eating alone, sitting in front of the box
Switching channels while the clock runs tick tock
Nothing excites you anymore
Tomorrow seems sore

When the day ruins you
You just retire to bed
Wishing you could break away from this instead
And you go off to sleep

When the day runs you
It ruins you

BREAK AWAY!
